NM Water Connections

	Welcome to NM Water Connections. The goal of this website is to facilitate communication between groups working on water related issues in New Mexico, promote collaboration between these groups, and provide a guide for anyone interested in finding out about water issues in our state. Protecting our water resources is now more important than ever as population growth puts more pressure on the natural systems that provide our water. If we are to be effective in this pursuit we need to promote awareness of the various efforts underway in different parts of the state, and facilitate communication between those involved. To implement this, we have created a database
containing detailed information about each group that registers with this site. If you are involved with a group concerned with the water issues now facing New Mexico, consider registering your group, it will contribute to the value of this site for everyone. The database is searchable by several criteria, so individuals can find the groups working on the issues they are interested in, it is also searchable by geographic area, organization type, and 501(c)(3) status. There is a bulletin board where member groups can post important information for New Mexico's water community. There is a calendar section where member groups can post upcoming events to help avoid scheduling conflicts. The site also hosts a forum, which is open to anyone, for discussion of various water issues, legislation, litigation, or any other topic people wish to talk about. Finally, there is a directory of other water related sites that may be useful to the New Mexico water community. Click here for a summary of the November 6th Water Mapping Meeting. In order to make this site a useful, valuable tool for New Mexico, we need the support of all groups concerned with this precious natural resource. If you are involved with such a group, please fill out our online survey. Your group will be listed in the database and you will be provided with access to post events or announcements. The more comprehensive our database, the more useful this site will be for everyone working on water issues in New Mexico.
